A new online dating service is Toronto's Ashley Madison Agency Ltd. It matches married or otherwise attached men with similarly situated women so they can have affairs. Many members admit that their partner does not know that they are involved in such a group, doing acts classed as cheating. They also said that if their partners were to join in they would most likely enjoy the thousands of people at Ashley Madison as well.

A subculture that seems to be booming in some countries and yet as one business-minded Toronto woman said "I was sick to my stomach when I saw that service. Then I thought, why didn't I think of that?" Mitchell (2004). Online dating has many opportunities, some which are even ethically corrupt.
A survey was conducted on a group of single people, most which claim that online dating is no worse than any other kind. The normal information users provide is their age, income, other characteristics and an optional photo. However researches asked University of Chicago undergraduates to rate the users’ physical attractiveness based on the photos provided, adding another variable into the mix. The way a person describes themselves is an important factor according to research obtained from the survey.
Only 1 percent of the population admitting to having “less than average�? looks, and only a third actually posted a photo. The weights reported of women were substantially less than the national average and about 30 percent were blonde. The weights reported by men were consistent with the national average and only 12 percent were blonde.
The thing that people found most important and were looking for were the way a person looked, posting a photo was a plus because women who posted photos received twice as many e-mails as women who did not, even when reporting that they had “average looks�?.
Another factor that was important was income. Having a lot of money is good for attracting e-mails, for men. Men reporting incomes in excess of $250,000 received 156 percent more e-mails than those with incomes below $50,000. It stated women liked man with a higher income than they have but men do not want to date women who earn more than they do.
Online dating is become very popular but as discussed it still has many of the woes of the dating world which people must overcome to hopefully find happiness. Jessica O'Connor
